All Wests Members and friends – please support our Major Sponsor – KPR AUTOMOTIVE – in their support for the Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge!
Lolly and Jack
This June, the real bosses of KPR Automotive — Lolly and Jack 🐾 — are taking on the Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge!
As the official KPR mascot dogs, they’ll be swapping naps, treats, and barking at absolutely nothing for daily walks to help raise money for a very important cause.
Every kilometre they walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer.” And every dollar raised helps fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for people impacted by cancer.
So if you can spare a few dollars, Lolly and Jack promise to keep their tails wagging, paws moving, and neighbourhood sniff inspections to a minimum. 🐶😂
Because when it comes to cancer, we’re all in this together — humans and pups alike. 💛
Aim of the Academy: is to provide technical and practical tuition for players, coaches, umpires and scorers. Players will get technical and playing tuition; coaches will coach players by conducting technical sessions and managing on field training sessions; umpires and scorers will be provided practical tuition by umpiring and scoring practice games where the players will play a game between themselves coached by the attending coaches – for umpires call strikes and balls during bullpen sessions will also occur.
Some time will be spent in the clubrooms learning new skills via video and coach discussions while the greater amount of time will be spent on the training track refining skills.
Wests are looking for a young member to take on a role to support our Club’s Social Media presence.
In today’s digital age, a strong social media presence is crucial for community sports clubs. It’s an excellent way to engage with members, attract new players, and keep everyone informed. But we know that as a volunteer, finding time to manage social media can be challenging.
The Social Media Team partners with the Club Secretary and other key Members to develop and execute digital engagement strategies across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and the club website. They create content calendars, design graphics, and write posts highlighting Club sponsors and supporters, match reports, player profiles, and community events.
They monitor social media channels for member feedback and enquiries, respond promptly to comments and messages, and analyse engagement metrics to refine promotional tactics. Their work amplifies club stories, drives membership growth, and strengthens sponsor visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
Develop and curate high-quality, engaging content for the club’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others.
Create visually appealing graphics using tools like Photoshop to enhance the club’s social media presence.
Social Media Management:
Schedule and post regular updates, match previews, match highlights, and other relevant content across various social media platforms.
Monitor and engage with the club’s online community, responding to comments, questions, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging social media platforms to ensure the club’s presence remains relevant.
Community Building:
Develop and implement strategies to grow the club’s social media following and fan engagement.
Work closely with the club’s marketing and communication team to promote events, news, and match-days.
Qualifications and Skills:
Passion for baseball and/or sport in general – a deep understanding of the sport would be helpful but not vital
Proficiency in social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Experience with basic graphic design and image editing software, especially Photoshop.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creativity and the ability to think outside the box to engage the club’s audience.
A commitment to the club’s mission and values.
Time Commitment: This is a volunteer position, and the Volunteer Social Media Manager is expected to dedicate a flexible number of hours per week.
To apply for this role, please send a CV, along with a short description of why you would suit this role, to our Club Secretary – Secretary@WestsBaseball.com.au
