LIFE MEMBERSHIP GRANTED TO BEN BROAD

It is with great pleasure that the Committee has bestowed the honour of Life Membership to Club stalwart – Ben Broad.

Ben received his award in front of all of his friends and team mates at the recent Seniors Presentation Night held at The Lion.

Ben has been with the Club since his junior playing days back in the 1980’s. He has played at our many and various fields over the ensuing years including Hero’s Park at Taringa; Western Districts Australian Football Club in Chelmer; Sherwood Australian Football Club’s ground; Dunlop Park, Corinda and finally Atthow’s Park Westcombe Street Darra.

Ben has done it all at Wests – player, coach and supporter.

Ben is one of the nicest and kindest persons you will ever have the pleasure of meeting.

Well done Ben – an honour truly deserved.

WHAT A DAY! HOME RUN DERBY – SENSATIONAL

The WESTS HOME RUN DERBY was the SMASH HIT of the season so far

Members and friends had a great day at Wests yesterday – great weather, sensational food, smashing events and a good time was had by all.

Huge shout out to Andrew “Rawlo” Rawlinson for creating the day – even if he was lollygagging over in the USA on the day.

The Brisbane Bandits were a huge part of the day and thanks to Ryan Searle; “Buster” and the team for their support

B2B attended with their large range of quality baseball gear and they provide 2 x $50 vouchers.

The food trucks were amazing with Flaming Horns smoked meats – so delicious; the ice cream and coffee trucks provided great product and our own canteen served heart warming, tasty food.

The great day ended with the extensive prize range being awarded.

Thanks to our hard working Committee for making this day so special
