COACH ACCREDITATION

Certification Pathways

Baseball coach accreditation in Australia is managed through Baseball Australia, which has adopted the USA Baseball Coaches Certification Program. It features three levels (A, B, and C) focused on safety, skill development, and creating a positive, compliant environment for participants. Accreditation is often mandatory for coaches, assistant coaches, and specialists.
USA Baseball Certification Levels (via Baseball Australia)
The certification pathway consists of three levels designed for club, charter, and participation-based competition:
  • Level A: Focuses on the basic fundamentals of the game, including safety, positive environment creation, and pitcher arm safety.
  • Level B: Covers more advanced practice planning and skill development.
  • Level C: Involves further coursework and practical assessment.
  • Performance Pathway: Specialised training for elite or state-team coaches is provided through tailored programs.
How to Get Accredited in Australia
  1. Register: Create an account on the Canopi coach learning portal to access training, resources, and track certifications. See Baseball Qld link below for this.
  2. Complete Courses: Complete the required online modules for each level (A & B are typically free, while C may have costs).
  3. Member Association: Accreditation is often a required component of registration with state bodies, such as Baseball Qld.
Additional Requirements
  • Child Safety: A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is generally required to coach in club environments.
  • Ongoing Education: Coaches are encouraged to stay updated through workshops, coaching clinics, and seminars regarding sport psychology and athlete development. [1]
