Teams are required to be registered with the GBL competition Committee one (1) month prior to the start of the season. Therefore the Club needs all players to register and pay the fee one month prior to the start of the season.

FROM BQ – ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

Baseball Queensland (BQ) advises that Capitation Fees for the 2025/26 membership year
(1 Sept 2025 – 31 Aug 2026) will increase across all categories due to inflationary pressures and a
10% rise in national insurance premiums. As such Baseball Australia will increase their fees by
$2.00 per membership type. Baseball Queensland fees will see an increase of 3.5% to keep pace
with inflation and Gameday have advised that their fees will increase to 3.85%.

Membership through Baseball Australia (BA)/BQ Capitations provides access to:

• National Insurance Coverage: Personal accident & public liability for players, coaches,
volunteers, and officials.
• Sport Governance: Regulation, legal support, judiciary processes, and representation at state
and national level.
• Digital Services: Integrated online registration and competition tools, learning resources, and
communication platforms.
• Development & Events: Access to structured pathways, competitions, and Events.
• Member Protection & Integrity: Ongoing investment in safe environments aligned to the
National Integrity Framework, access to Member protection, and child safety materials.

We remain committed to delivering on our participation targets through initiatives including the
Active Industry Project Fund, the Play Our Way Program, the Buddy League program, and the
PlayWell National Strategy. Our 2025/26 priorities include strengthening child safety, growing club
participation, and exceeding 5% annual growth targets.

Buddy League
Buddy League is our new club-led program for children aged 3 to 6. The Buddy League program
pairs each player with a parent, sibling, or volunteer ‘Buddy’ on the field and opens structured
baseball participation to this younger age group, often missed by other sports.
Clubs signing up to run an 8 week Buddy League program in the 2025/26 season will receive a $250
voucher for equipment and each player will receive a glove and ball.
Refunds
Requesting a BQ Capitation Refund will only be considered under exceptional circumstances (e.g.
double payment, medical withdrawal prior to play) and only before taking the field for training or
games. If approved, refunds will incur a $5 admin fee to cover processing costs. Please consult the
BQ Refund Policy here.

Thank you for your continued support in growing baseball across Queensland. We look forward to
a strong and successful 2025/26 season.
