The Committee of the Western Districts Baseball Club Inc. would like to welcome all new members registering with the Club this season.

We are looking forward to another great season of summer baseball – just hope the rain does not interfere as much this season!

Important information

AGE GROUPS & FEES – The following table shows age groups and playing fees

Games and season

Games commence first weekend in October 2025
Season break for summer school holidays from Saturday, December 13 2025
Season recommences Saturday 31 January 2026
Game fixtures will be available late September 2025 – we will provide a link to GameDay fixtures using the GameDay App once the fixture is available
Please ensure you factor your child’s team making the finals which will continue after the season home and away games conclude
Club communications are encouraged to be put through the StackApp – see separate POST on website with details

Pre-season training and gradings

Pre-season training for junior teams – each Saturday 1pm – 3pm for Ages 7 – 13 and 3pm – 5pm – Ages 14 & 15
Coaches will advise each team when training will move from Saturdays to mid-week training

Mid – week training

Mid week training will be Tuesday/Thursdays – 4.30pm – 6.00pm for Little League Major & Minor (bottom fields) & Senior League 70 & 80 (Top field)
Mid week training will be Mondays/Wednesdays – 4.30pm – 6.00pm for Senior League 90 (Top field)

Team Gradings

Gradings for all children – Saturday 30 August 2025

TIME:

Little League Major & Minor – 1pm – 3pm – Field 2
Senior League 70 & 80 – 1pm – 3pm – Field 1
Senior League 90 – 3pm – 5pm – Field 1

8 – 11 year old players (as of 31 August 2025)

Bottom Field – 1pm – 3pm – Field 2
(depending on numbers – may split into two groups)
12 – 13 year old players
Top field – 1pm – 3pm Field 1
14 – 15 year old players
Top field – 3pm – 5pm Field 1

ON FIELD TESTING ACTIVITIES

Base running – H – 1; 1 – 3
Bat speed (radar gun)
Bat power – distance off tee
Fielding – infield ground balls
Fielding – outfield fly balls
Arm speed (radar gun)

After the on field testing; Coaches will form the teams and you will be notified as soon as possible. This process will take at least one week.

REMEMBER – each Age level competition has a new name and new rules.

UNIFORMS

Playing fees do not include provision of a baseball uniform. You will need to order your child’s baseball uniform through the Club on line shop through the Club website – https://westsbaseball.com.au/shop/

We provide all of the playing uniform components – playing jersey, white pants, cap, socks, belt, protective cup etc.

You can also visit our Uniform Shop in the Clubrooms which will be open each Saturday afternoon 1pm – 4pm during the pre-season period starting Saturday, 23 August 2025

BASEBALL EQUIPMENT

As part of the playing fee, the Club provides bats and batting helmets and catchers gear for each team. You will not need to purchase any of this equipment – over time players often prefer to buy their own but that is their choice.

The Club has a number of gloves that can be borrowed – however we would encourage all players to purchase their own glove ultimately.
